[ Sanji is, in fact, correct. Shanks might adore Luffy, and will speak of the incident if he has to, and will speak freely about Luffy, but he doesn't want to discuss the sacrifice, if he can avoid it. In fact, as of now, the only person he's really told anything to is Buggy. And even that is because they go way back as old friends ( in Shanks' mind ). He, simply, smiles back when he sees Sanji's smiles, watches his eyes, and is, silently, grateful. ]

Even now, he's still far too quick to run his mouth, but he remains one of the best I've known, as well. [ After a decade, with the amount of people Shanks' has met, that is saying something. ]

[ He understands, too, the emptiness without him. His expression softens when Sanji looks crest-fallen, and it deepens when Sanji agrees with him. ]

You'll see him again. [ There's an ease at not being recognized, and leaves Shanks far more comfortable with this meeting. Less expectation, that way. He lifts his glass. ] To Luffy. To new friends.
