(were it anywhere but here, she might have felt better about it. gambling isn't a vice that she partakes in on terms of it being a more normal way; what she does is, she gambles more in a fight and on whether or not if she can get out with an injury. perhaps even without losing her life. the only issue is texas could be more reckless than some might know or see. that just comes with the territory from her life and it's various twists, turns that almost always seemed more stranger than the rest. from this being a new experience there was no way she can tell what just might happen. she didn't know the whole specifics aside from what little she could get.

and she'd prefer to not get on the bad side of the house were it to mean she might make it back home, before something happens. she did get confused when she intended to reach for the die at him standing up, there's curiosity in her eyes while following ragna's movements. what is he thinking about? she almost wanted to ask if he was intending to make a break for it.

that was farfetched to think about. she saw the number of guards, the people working the floor, and those crowds that were fixated on her. that'd spell trouble to make that sort of attempt: when he calls over a manager that's when she blinks. they didn't sound too pleased it was him talking. she probably should have done it instead, but she has a feeling she might not have known what to ask about without making things more difficult on them.

the conversation going along does tell her that ragna seems to be blunt....and made her wonder more if she ought to get ready put some distance between them. that is until she catches the rest of it; she has to hold back a laugh to seem polite. though those days are long behind her, texas didn't want to seem rude. the way that the manager almost seems to be flustered at him getting the answers that he needed. thank god. she's got genuine relief on her face and doesn't seem as tensed up from earlier, this did make things far more easier and they didn't have to do anything that texas would sooner get violent about.

ragna did sort of remind her of someone, maybe.

probably someone from rhodes island during her time delivering their packages; there was plenty of odd characters within the landship. outside of it too, were she to be more honest about it once she manages to crack a faint smile.)

Right. Luckily for us, I don't have preferences on what's done.

(honestly, if he could get her to smile properly that might be enough. that's one thing she decides. she can take a smile for them being caught up in an awkward situation that could have been worse had they been required to be physical.)

Roll the die, try to make me smile then?

(that might be difficult, surely, but it's the thought that counts.)
