[What he would do... Well, that's an interesting question. He's forgiven Naoya, forgiven Cain from murdering him literal lifetimes, plural, ago. But then, that had been a situation between the two of them, hadn't it?
Though his friends had been dragged into Naoya's grudge as well. Not just himself. And then there had been other innocent bystanders like Midori. Like Keisuke. Like Gin and Haru, and then there had also been Shoji, Kaido, and Miss Mari.
And the dozens of other faceless people who had been murdered. Whether by Demon Tamers, by the demons, or by the angels or the government.
It'd all started with Naoya, with Cain, all those years ago, hadn't it? How does he feel about that? He thinks... Naoya had been punished enough. Even if he hadn't agreed with the method he'd chosen. Naoya had cared about people, even if he'd thought sacrifices were necessary for not only freeing himself, but also mankind at large.]
I.. Think I might have left him. From what you say, he'd taken advantage of people for purely selfish reasons. For only his own gain ever. And while Naoya had done the same, his reasons weren't entirely selfish. He'd had thousands of thousands of years to try and figure out some way to end his curse, and some way to free mankind from God, and that was his best solution. Your father didn't even have a single selfless thought, from what you tell me.
But... I don't think that means your choice was wrong. I think the most important thing a person can have is the freedom to choose. To follow their own path of what they think is right.
