[ The combination of Sylvain's reassurances and being pulled into a hug only serve to make her cry harder. It's a rare occurance for Hilda to cry out of helplessness that doesn't have anything to do with trying to garner pity or comfort. This isn't a broken nail, a split end or a chore that she doesn't want to do.
It's because she truly doesn't know what to do about this, about what this means for her in Fódlan, and about failing someone she cares so deeply about.
Of course she can't say any of that to Sylvain. He wouldn't begin to understand, nor does she feel particularly inclined to try and explain it to him. And not only that the last thing she wants is to burden him with this new found fear of hers.
