[He'd wished for Touya to come home the instant he was gone—even before then, when the fear had first crept in. He'd wished for things to be better between them, that he could know what to say or do to fix the problem. He's aware of the gulf between them in his own way, and he would give anything to cross it.

If he were to wish for Touya to talk to him, or to be with him, that would be forcing Touya's hand. Like when his attempts to make conversation had made Natsuo so furious with him. He can be too controlling, too aggressive. He has to keep himself in check.

If Touya wants to call him selfish, he accepts it. How could he deny it? He has no right to say otherwise.

You're here.

[He says it softly. Touya is his family, though he doesn't deserve a family. He watches Touya's every movement, rapt.]

Even if there's no one to see or hear me, it won't change the fact that I'm responsible. It's not as if atonement stops when no one else is around.

[Even if he doesn't believe in wishes coming true, he would make one for Touya's sake if he could... He nods. He knows what Touya wants from him, and he doesn't object.]

I don't intend to.
