( That voice calls back to him, and for a second, Hawks doesn't know if the way his heart drops is a good or bad things. A part of him wants to insist it's good - that there's no doubt that it's Endeavor. And if Endeavor is here, if they're together, he can take care of him. But he thinks back to the last time he'd seen the other hero. How down and hurting he'd been with the state of the world, with the revelation of a son he thought he'd lost still being alive. Being a villain.
This isn't a good place for him to be. Not for someone like Endeavor. And all he knows in that moment is that regardless of how he feels about it, the worries he has, it's important to be there at his side.
It's that that thought has him moving, not bothering to hide the sounds of his steps as he crosses the distance to the where the hall bends and he can see the brightening glow of those flames. Hawks rounds the corner, his heart racing, and it feels like he's been punched in the gut.
The bright eyes find the other man's face first, recognize the shape of it, the way those flames crown his expression. And he wants to be relieved, wants to make some joke about all of this, to laugh it off as if it's completely normal to be snatched into some strange sex casino. But Endeavor is there, missing an arm, and all he has is questions. He isn't sure something like that happened here, but with villains here, there's no telling.
Even so, Hawks forces himself to breathe. Grins slowly and lifts his hands with a playful shrug. )
Fancy seeing you here, Endeavor-san. ( His feathers float around him as he stands there, close enough that if either of them reached out, they'd be able to touch one another. And even if he doesn't know what to think, what to feel, none of that shows in the warm expression. The casualness of his posture and expression under the flickering warmth of those flames. )
Get lost looking for the bathroom? I can walk you back to dry land if you want.
