[Literally everybody in the world could know Ali and Concord are a thing. That would not stop them being rather private people about it. Concord wasn't one for flaunting, Ali was simply keen on his secrecy. The dragon liked to hide what he was, to not be perceived in many ways, to live as an unspoken influence. Concord needed to be seen, to serve as a sort of symbol of the country. Needs and wants were always at play between them, always in some tension.

Concord holds onto Ali all the way back to the place they awoke. There's nobody else in the beach house and Concord relaxes only once that's established. To lock door behind them, draw the blinds closed, and be alone together is the most familiar thing... and it is the most strange, in a place so completely unfamiliar,]
