[ Being able to see someone so at ease and at home on the sea after everything she had learned is weirdly reassuring. She'd never go as far to say that it gave her hope for whatever time she had here because it was too soon for that, but it certainly helped soothe her nerves to see that there were small pockets of goodness in this bizarre place that she had landed in. ]

Nami’s question has her hesitating. For a brief moment there’s a storminess in her gaze, easy to pick out by anyone with keen eyes. It didn't feel right to lie after being invited onboard, but the (partial) truth is a bit of a downer on the setting even with the levity she tries and fails to inject. ]
 

I was in the middle of a war. But before that, I was the youngest daughter of a noble house. [ Her smile is self deprecating to a degree, but there's an ease to it, like what she says next is a fact she's resigned herself to in some ways. ] Definitely not as important or impressive as a navigator for a ship.
