There was an "illness" of sorts, one which resulted in patients coughing up blood and flower petals, that spread so rapidly through the resort that anyone and everyone was recruited to assist in treating it. I volunteered during that time.

( There's a little bit of a pause as he folds his arms, here, deciding not to explain that the cure for that one was, in fact, the main call that this resort often relies on. It's irrelevant right now, anyway— he's just explaining why he was allowed in, right? )

My use of magic generally requires a knowledge of the human body, as well, so I'm not the worst person who could volunteer. But, if you're looking for perfection in treatment, then it may be better to wait the extended time for one of these doctors.
