there's nothing particularly comforting in his words or the casual way he observes her, like she's part of the entertainment here and not fontaine's #1 girlfailure trying to get her shit together. but in a way, that's reassurance on its own. he's a stranger, with no investment in her life or obligation to please her due to who she once was. he has no reason or motive to offer any sort of help—all the more reason for her to consider his words carefully. ]
