Some would call it a daring, attention-grabbing final act. Others might call it stupidity... It had a purpose, if nothing else.

In short, he called The Family's bluff. As it stands, I happen to be a member of said Family, so I can't say I was all that happy to see Aventurine's plan come to fruition.

( The lies continue, as they tend to do. When you do something for long enough, it comes to be second nature.

If she doesn't know about Aventurine's performance, then she doesn't know about Sunday's ascension, and she certainly doesn't know the truth of the Watchmaker and his hidden spaces.

It means Gallagher can play his role a little longer. )


If he didn't survive... well, he proved his point. He did what he sought out to do.
