One of those criminals had a connection to Godfather, and either that criminal asked for us, or Gatekeeper called him up and offered to hand us over. I'm sure he'd get a hefty sum of money for us either way, though I doubt that was his only motive.

This theory, of course, will become complicated once he starts learning more about the resort. He's met with J, for starters, and J claimed he'd never heard of Gatekeeper or Godfather.
J isn't actually the man in charge, though, so then again, who knows? Not either of them, that's for sure.]
But that's about where my theory ends, and you're absolutely right about this being a huge headache. So, let's drop that for now and focus on "the House!"

[Like athleisure stores.] This place is awfully huge, though, so we'll want to decide on a meeting spot for afterwards. Perhaps that gold fountain in the main lobby?
