He's immediately by the stack of boxes and starting to go through them. The contents of most of them aren't particularly interesting: scraps of fabric, some even big enough to maybe be underwear, but no new sets of robes or anything like that. He tosses them to the side as he goes, not bothering to put them back nicely.
He tries picking a heavier box and opens it up, only to find a weird, smooth shape inside. Xue Yang takes it out and turns it over in his hand, studying it. What's this for? It doesn't look like it's meant to be stuck inside of someone or anything like that. He spends a few more seconds looking at it, but finally gives up and tosses it to the side as well.
The sound it makes as it hits the ground isn't unusual, but the sound immediately following it is: there's a hard-to-catch click and a noticeable buzzing noise starts up, originating from the object. As it settles it continues to make noise, a bit louder as it stops next to the dresser and buzzes against its leg.
Xue Yang is instantly alert, going to pull out his sword on instinct and only pausing when there's nothing to be grabbed. Instead he stands ready, on guard, as he focuses in on the item. ]
... I don't know what it is, daozhang. It was in one of the boxes and only started sounding like that when I dropped it. [ Threw it. Same thing. ]
