[ It's perfectly alright to entertain such thoughts, knowing well that they will never come to fruition. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise that his father treated him the way he did, giving up his childhood, for who knows what path he would have taken if things were different. (Or the fact he likely would be participating in this game.) Jun's grateful that he doesn't possess those qualities and takes his role as an idol seriously. He's sure Hiyori must be the same, even as he's unaware of the potential consequences that may arise from not adhering to the instructions given by the watch.

But for now, this isn't a pressing concern, especially since he has already made it clear to Hiyori that he will not comply. So, for the time being, everything is fine.

Maybe mentioning Nagi-senpai was a misstep, as Jun notices the subtle change in Hiyori's smile. He feels the urge to say something, anything to alleviate the situation, knowing he still had faith Nagi-senpai wouldn't want them to be here. Jun firmly believes, despite his partner's feelings towards Ibara, he's committed to finding the two of them, even if they weren't part of Eden or particularly close.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Jun has heard this phrase before, but what exactly would the Romans be doing in this situation? Would they be playing along with the game? Jun assumes that's what it implies. ]

I've noticed, there's people out there fightin' over chocolate boxes. Not the weirdest thing I've seen, but I don't wanna think 'bout what else is happening out there.

[ Apart from the odd Poker Machine randomly giving out bizarre instructions, the focus shifts to what Hiyori says next, causing Jun to burst into laughter. After all, how can he possibly protect him? Jun's the "intimidating" one in their duo, so shouldn't he be the one issuing threats, even if he doesn't feel like it? And aren't those days long gone? It seems that he is willing to go to great lengths just to prevent any peculiar individuals from attempting either of those things.

He, unfortunately, cares too much about Hiyori to allow anything to happen. ]

... shouldn't I be the one saying that? I dunno how you're gonna shoo anyone away, Ohii-san, 'cause how are they gonna take you seriously? I mean, I don't wanna see anything bad happen... How 'bout we look out for one another instead? Yeah, I'm fine with that.

[ And Jun refuses to be pressured into doing anything he doesn't want to do, so he is grateful to Hiyori for the times when he respects his boundaries. Similarly, he would never want to see Ohii-san being coerced into doing something against his will. ]
